Research
The university's key areas of research include Ageing, Asian Studies, Biomedical Science and Translational Medicine, Finance and Risk Management, Maritime, Materials Science, Smart Nation, and Sustainability and Urban Solutions.
NUS is home to four of Singapore’s six Research Centers of Excellence – specializing in quantum technologies, cancer, mechanobiology, intelligent and is a partner in a fifth on environmental life sciences and engineering. It also has 33 university-level research institutes and centres and four corporate laboratories. NUS researchers were awarded $956.3m in research funding in 2021.
